Start with the contracting entity

Identify the legal entity that contracted, custodied, or provided the service, not only the brand. Compare invoice, terms, registration, and support details and record language and location. Affiliates may have different complaint routes and regulators. A non-custodial interface can differ from contract execution and third-party service responsibility; a transaction hash alone does not determine who owes compensation.

Internal complaints and deadlines

Submit a concise packet with order, hash, time, function, steps taken, and requested remedy, retaining acknowledgement. Note review deadlines, material requests, and external routes. Multiple tickets can fragment evidence. Internal procedures may precede regulator or ombudsman review, each with limits. Secure account and evidence while funds are at risk. Support does not need seeds, passwords, or one-time codes to investigate a case.

Regulator, ombuds, and arbitration channels

External routes can include regulators, consumer bodies, ombuds, arbitration, or courts depending on entity and product. They may not recover funds or cover every crypto activity. Read scope, language, fees, deadlines, and prerequisites from official pages. A referral is not a finding on loss, and a licence is not a refund guarantee. Preserve residence and contract evidence; avoid private “recovery” services found through search.

Evidence packet and privacy

Prepare a timeline, terms, statements, exports, public hashes, advisories, support replies, and loss calculation, separating originals from explanations. Redact seeds, keys, full identity numbers, and unrelated third-party data; use verified secure channels. Date and URL screenshots without turning clickable phishing links into evidence. Use provisional language for uncertain amounts and state assumptions; honest unknowns support review better than inflated claims.

Waiting and follow-up

Keep case number, deadlines, and contact after submission, following official notices without private priority fees. If service resumes, reconcile old requests, balances, and fees; a working homepage does not resolve each case. Track technical, contractual, regulatory, and tax strands separately. Compare final responses with originals and request review within deadlines. This method cannot promise compensation for any platform, region, or amount.
